Before Mexico I was living in London. Other countries where I have spent more than a month include: Costa Rica, USA, Spain and England but actually most of the time has been in London.
I love my job although I’m a little overwhelmed by it . . . I occasionally surf, often cook, love to travel, take photos, try to garden, drink, and generally be all round awesome. It doesn’t usually work out because I have the attention span of a gnat.
I got married to a very special Dutchman earlier this year in a bit of rushed wedding that would enable us to travel to Mexico together.
We had been living together in London for six months and we were pretty sure that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together but we couldn’t be completely certain and when I got offered the job in Mexico we decided to go ahead and see! We have been living together for a year and married for six months now and we are still pretty sure that we want to be married – so: so far so good.
I have always wanted to be a writer but I’m not sure I could write a book without being myself. So I’m writing this website under a pseudonym, not because it’s dishonest but to see what it feels like to be someone else. Furthermore, all of my guest writers and anyone I refer to have new names aswell.
The Site
This site was mainly designed by my husband with some “No! Not like that” input from me. He is incredibly intelligent and extraordinarily patient.
Although when you say it out aloud it sounds like the site is named after a really big kangaroo – like this one . But actually the name is a combination of the first two letters of our other names plus roo. When the world cup was on, in support of the Socceroos, I referred to everything with roo stuck to the end of it. So at nightime it was napperoo time, before then it was time to eateroo and of course the essential showeroo. At about the same time as the world cup, mosquitoes started appearing in my Mexican town so I developed some very itchy bites and was complaining about the lack of itchybite cream. Alex was somewhat worried (pissed off) that he had married a babytalking wife with a ridiculous vocabulary however by the time the Socceroos were kicked out of the cup in a true act of unconsciousness, he picked the habit up himself. Come on Natasha, he would say so sensually, lets have a fuckeroo.
So anyway when we were looking for a site, myti.com had already been taken and mytiroo.com was a natural choice.
